At the heart of Denim & Thread is Bila, an artisan deeply rooted in the slow, intentional heritage of Southern craft. Where others see discarded textile waste, Bila sees a narrative waiting to unfold. Every single purse she creates is born from a meticulous process of transformation—taking rugged, storied denim and hand-shaping it into refined works of Western luxury.
Working by hand out of her Texas studio, Bila treats denim as a luxury material. By deconstructing and repurposing old garments, she honors the durability of the weave while entirely bypassing the heavy chemical dye processes and environmental tolls of modern fast fashion. It is an artistic rebellion against mass production, resulting in timeless items of uncompromising quality.
